Did you know you can fundraise on behalf of Cure GM1? Individual fundraisers are one of the most powerful ways to support Cure GM1. They can be done online or in person, can be simple or ambitious, and can occur over a long period of time or in one day.  There are a lot of fundraising options, from asking for donations in lieu of gifts, to running marathons, to hosting a scavenger hunt or gala!

Individual fundraisers are powerful, because they expand the effective radius of our community. Cure GM1 has a limited contact list we can reach out to for donations. When you fundraise on our behalf, our network expands to include yours, exponentially increasing awareness for our cause – and greatly increasing donations.

We rely on the generosity of networks like yours to fund the research that will eventually lead to treatments and a cure for GM1 gangliosidosis.

We know that some people have reservations about asking the people they know for money, and that’s totally understandable. Just remember, there is no shame or harm in promoting our cause. Our sole purpose is to improve and save the lives of those who suffer from GM1.

You can see some examples of fundraisers that benefit Cure GM1 on our Fundraisers page

Fundraisers don’t have to be hosted in person. You can use your social media networks and email contacts to host online fundraisers. You can create short term fundraisers for your birthday or holidays, or ongoing fundraisers that end when your goal is reached through outlets like GoFundMe or Facebook Fundraising. You can also create shopping-based fundraisers through vendors, like Kendra Scott, Krispy Kreme Donuts, and Charleston Wrap.
